Installer codes
When the ClearVisibility Desktop installer finishes, it reports a number that says how it ended. If an installation did not complete, find its code below to see what happened and what to do.
A normal installation shows any problem on screen, in words. The code matters when the installer was run silently, for example by the Microsoft Store or by a deployment tool, where there is no window to show a message.

0Installed
ClearVisibility Desktop was installed. If it was already on this PC, it was updated in place and your data was kept.
- Nothing. Open ClearVisibility from the Start menu.
1Setup could not start
The installer stopped before it began. The usual reason is that this PC is not supported.
- ClearVisibility Desktop needs 64-bit Windows 10 version 1607 or later, Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016 or later. Check your Windows version in Settings, System, About, and update Windows if it is older.
- If Windows is supported, download the installer again in case the file was damaged, then run it once more.
2Cancelled before installing
The installation was cancelled before any files were copied. Nothing was changed.
- Run the installer again when you are ready.
3An error while preparing to install
The installer met an unexpected error between two stages of the installation.
- Restart the PC and run the installer again.
- If it happens again, email us with the code and what you were doing.
4An error during the installation
The installer could not finish copying its files. Your data is not affected.
- Close ClearVisibility if it is open (right-click its icon near the clock and choose Quit), then run the installer again. If you were updating an existing copy, run the installer again before you use ClearVisibility.
- Security software can block new program files while it scans them. If the error repeats, check its log for ClearVisibility, or try again a few minutes later.
- If it still fails, email us with the code.
5Cancelled during the installation
The installation was cancelled while files were being copied. Your data is not affected.
- Run the installer again when you are ready. If you were updating an existing copy, run it again before you use ClearVisibility.
7A check before installing did not pass
Before it copies anything, the installer checks that ClearVisibility will be able to run. One of three checks did not pass, and nothing on your PC was changed.
- Disk space: ClearVisibility needs at least 2 GB free on the drive that holds your Windows user profile. Free some space, then run the installer again.
- A port is in use: ClearVisibility uses two ports on your own PC only, 55432 for its local database and 5099 for its window. If another program is using either one, close or reconfigure that program, then run the installer again.
- An existing database from a different version: if this PC has ClearVisibility data made by a version that used a different PostgreSQL version, this installer cannot open it. To keep that data, keep using the version you had. To start again with an empty database, uninstall ClearVisibility, answer No when asked whether to keep your data, then run this installer again.
Codes you will not see
The installer is built with Inno Setup, which also defines codes 6 and 8. ClearVisibility Desktop never returns them: it does not need a restart to install, and it downloads nothing during setup, so there is no network failure to report.
